This summer, we invite you to step away from noise and routine — and into something simpler, deeper, and more real.
Nøsen and Alexander Medin welcome you to four days of sincere practice, reflection, and renewal in the Norwegian mountains. This is not just another yoga retreat. It is an opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and immerse yourself in yoga as a living path.
Whether you are new to yoga or have practiced for decades, you are welcome.
Teaching will be offered in English and Norwegian.
Why This Is Different
There is something rare about practicing in a place where nature is vast, silence is natural, and life moves at a slower rhythm.
Nøsen is surrounded by open sky, mountain air, clean water, and quiet forests. When you practice here, the landscape itself becomes part of the teaching. The stillness supports your attention. The space around you creates space within you.
And you are guided by someone who has walked this path for over 30 years.
Alexander Medin has dedicated his life to practice, study, and teaching. His approach is steady, clear, and deeply rooted in both classical yoga and lived experience. He does not teach trends. He teaches what endures.
His gift is making depth accessible — whether you are taking your first steps or refining a lifelong practice.
A Practice You Can Live With
The purpose of this intensive is not performance. It is integration.
Over four thoughtful days, you will:
Deepen your understanding of what yoga truly points toward
Explore how posture, breath, attention, and philosophy connect
Learn how to build a sustainable, personal practice
Clarify what matters — and let go of what does not
This is about cultivating steadiness without hardness, clarity without pressure.
Yoga becomes powerful when it moves from something you do on the mat to something that supports how you live.
A Balanced and Supportive Structure
The program adapts to the participants. If needed, we divide into levels so that both beginners and experienced practitioners feel supported and challenged in the right way.
Each day may include:
Early morning meditation or mantra (japa)
Guided asana or Mysore-style self-practice
Pranayama and technical refinement
Teachings from classical yoga texts
Afternoon sessions focused on integration, breath, and subtle awareness
The rhythm is steady and human. Enough depth to grow. Enough space to breathe.
The Experience of Nøsen
Between sessions, you can:
Walk directly from the hotel into the mountains
Swim or cold plunge in the clear lake
Sit in silence with a book
Rest deeply without distraction
You are nourished by simple, wholesome food. You are surrounded by people who come with intention. You are held by nature.
Many describe Nøsen not only as a retreat center — but as a place that changes their relationship to practice and their own lives.
This Intensive Is For You If You:
Want to understand yoga more deeply
Seek clarity and inner steadiness
Wish to strengthen your practice in a meaningful way
Are new and want a solid, safe foundation
Have practiced for years and want to reconnect with the essence
Long for a summer retreat that feels genuine and transformative
Yoga is not about becoming someone else. It is about becoming more aligned with what is already true.
We would be honored to welcome you to Nøsen this summer.
A warm welcome to Nøsen!
