Moving into Aliveness: Trail Running & Yoga with Jenny Kostoglakis

Moving into Aliveness: Trail Running & Yoga with Jenny Kostoglakis

Nøsen Yoga og Fjellhotell (map)

This retreat is for my women. May you find your own sense of aliveness again.

As women, so many of us have been taught that moving our bodies is about looking a certain way. Forget this nonsense. Movement is a conversation with your body. It is joy, playfulness and the sense of aliveness. Over these four days, we will explore what happens when suppressed energy is allowed to move again. We will awaken, feel, and release.

Our Core Practices

Refreshing Trail Runs. Running wakes up your mind and body. Yes, it gets your lungs and heart pumping, but it also lifts your mood by boosting the production of feel-good chemicals like serotonin and dopamine. The rhythmic, bouncing movement supports the release of stuck emotions and the increased blood flow to your brain, helps clear mental fog and fatigue.

Deep Yin Yoga. This is where your body learns the true meaning of stillness, softness and surrender. Each pose is held for three to five minutes. During this time, you allow your muscles and fascia to let go. The goal is not to push to your max, but to find your sweet spot. In this stillness, you begin to create a safe space for pausing and deep insight.

Yoga Nidra: Here you’ll be guided into the “in between” zone - shifting between waking and sleeping. That deeply restorative state activates your parasympathetic nervous system and can lower your cortisol, the main stress hormone in your body. It reduces anxiety, opens up emotional blockages, promotes creativity and the connection to your self.

I can’t wait to guide you through this beautiful experience.

About Jenny Kostoglakis

Certified Yin Yoga Instructor, Yoga Nidra Guide & Passionate Runner

Coming from the fast-paced world of journalism and having dealt with burnout, I know exactly what it means to race through life with such speed that you wake up one day and barely recognize yourself. “Push a little harder here, do a little more there,” I told myself. And somewhere in the midst of all the pushing and relentless striving - that’s where I lost myself. I already knew back then, this wasn’t the path I was meant to walk. It wasn’t healthy, and it wasn’t living. It couldn’t be.

So, I paused.

And stepped onto the mat. Yoga made me realize that stillness and peace existed; I just needed to actively make space for them. But putting on my first running shoes five years ago, that made me feel alive again. Running taught me that movement – in any form – is release. There were countless times that I ran and suddenly started crying because something in my chest had lifted. We have no idea how much our body carries. With each breath, I found presence; with each move, I started to feel into my body and mind again.

I strongly believe that movement of any kind is one of the greatest pauses available to us in the chaos of modern life. And it is my mission to create that exact pause for you – a moment where you can rediscover the pure joy of moving your body and where you step out of the noise and back into yourself. Where you feel alive again.

Your Guides

This retreat will be guided by Brother Arjuna and Pernilla Halldin, two dedicated Integral Yoga teachers from Norway and Sweden. Together, they bring decades of experience, heartfelt presence, and a shared devotion to Integral Yoga.

Their combined backgrounds—in yoga, stress management, mindfulness, and holistic well-being—create a compassionate and balanced space for personal transformation, where each participant is invited to explore the path toward inner peace and joy.

Brother Arjuna

Brother Arjuna is a certified Yoga Teacher trained at the Integral Yoga Academy, internationally registered through Yoga Alliance as both an E-RYT 200 and RYT 500, and a certified Stress Management Educator.

His journey into yoga and meditation began nearly 26 years ago—first through meditation, and later expanding into the physical practice of yoga in 2011. This lifelong path has been filled with both challenges and insights, ultimately leading to a dedicated daily practice and a heartfelt commitment to guiding others toward inner peace.

He has had the honor of studying under respected Swamis and teachers at the Integral Yoga Academy in Yogaville, San Francisco, and New York. This comprehensive training, combined with his Yoga Alliance certifications, has provided him with a deep understanding of yoga philosophy, practice, and stress management.

Over the years, Brother Arjuna has guided many individuals on their unique journeys toward balance and well-being. His teaching blends personal experience, professional expertise, and a research-informed approach to create a holistic, grounded, and compassionate path to yoga and stress management.

Drawing on his background in Arctic Outdoor Education from UiT Campus Alta, he has seen firsthand how connecting with nature can cultivate inner peace and joy, complementing and deepening the practice of yoga. He also holds a deep love for music, kirtan, and Nada Yoga (the yoga of sound). Through these practices, he explores how sound vibration can open the heart and bring harmony to the whole being.

Pernilla Halldin

Pernilla Halldin is a certified Integral Yoga Teacher with a passion for making yoga accessible to everyone. She has taught yoga in a wide variety of settings, reaching people who might not otherwise come to a yoga studio—from women in prison in Hong Kong to children with special needs, from corporate environments to retreats across Europe. Her lifelong mission is to make yoga available to everybody and every body.

She is especially devoted to Raja Yoga—the yoga of the mind—and to the philosophy and practices that help us live in alignment with our values and respond to life with awareness. These teachings are naturally woven into her Hatha Yoga classes, where calm steadiness, mindful breathing, and gentle yet meaningful challenges invite students to listen inward and discover their own inner resources.

Pernilla has trained and studied extensively in Hong Kong, India, Portugal, Germany, and the United States, and is qualified in Integral Hatha Yoga (Basic and Intermediate), Raja Yoga, Accessible Yoga, Hormone Yoga, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, and Dance. For more than ten years, she has also been a certified Yoga for the Special Child practitioner. In recent years, she has delved deeply into the power of the breath and the transformative wisdom of menopause, adding even greater depth and authenticity to her teaching.

Introduction to Tai Chi Grammar with Ann Danaiya Usher

Introduction to Tai Chi Grammar with Ann Danaiya Usher

Nøsen Yoga og Fjellhotell (map)

Welcome to a four-day workshop with Ann Danaiya Usher at the spectacular Nøsen Retreat Centre in the Norwegian mountains. Designed for practitioners of tai chi in the tradition of Moy Lin Shin, this workshop offers a systematic presentation of grounding principles to deepen your understanding of the movement.

The program will be playful, interactive, and hands-on, with plenty of time and space to experiment and explore.

Tai Chi Grammar

In language, grammar is the underlying structure guiding and informing the way we speak. Once we speak a language, we no longer need the grammar. But while we are learning, grammar can be a tool that can help us along the way.

“Tai chi grammar” is both a set of principles and a methodology. It aims to give students, veteran practitioners and people newer to the art, an explanatory framework, a set of tools that can help deepen your understanding of the movement, to gain autonomy in your own practice, and to connect to the spine.

About Ann Danaiya Usher

A resident of Norway since 1996, Ann Danaiya Usher began her practice of tai chi in the early 1980s in Montréal, Canada. She has taught classes and workshops in Canada, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Norway.

Over the last decade, she has been investigating the internal structures of the movement, in search of a methodology to inform her own practice and to ground her teaching. This pursuit has resulted in the development of a set of principles – a “grammar” of tai chi.

Previous Workshops

The first Tai Chi Grammar workshop was held at Nøsen in autumn 2024, hosted by Ann and her teacher Philippe Gagnon.

Philippe describes the method as:

“A structured way to introduce students to a central, yet often elusive, feature of internal movement … stretching the lower spine … addressing one of the cornerstones of internal movement.”

Participants have said:

  • “It changed the understanding of my tai chi practice.”

  • “The newest perspective on tai chi I have come across so far.”

  • “It transformed my understanding of sitting and dropping.”

  • “Very important in my journey and my learning of tai chi.”

Workshop Structure – July 2026

This workshop will be the third time that Ann offers this course. It will take place over four days. It is intended both for people who have just learned the set and for experienced practitioners and teachers. We will go systematically through the first principles of Tai Chi Grammar, finding applications in the set and making concepts relevant to each student’s practice and individual challenges.

You can expect:

  • Six sessions (3 hours each), spread over four days

  • Systematic exploration of first principles of Tai Chi Grammar

  • Applications to the set and to each participant’s personal practice

  • Optional early-morning stretching and meditation sessions

  • Evenings for exchange, free practice, play, and discussion

  • Long lunch breaks with time to rest or walk in the mountains

Black Lotus Retreat with Ty Landrum - 1 or 2 weeks

Black Lotus Retreat with Ty Landrum - 1 or 2 weeks

Nøsen Yoga og Fjellhotell (map)

Black Lotus Yoga is the latest blossom of the modern vinyasa tradition, a potent ritual of breath and movement that opens the inner channels of the body and invites the creative sap to flow. Based on old Hatha principles, Black Lotus Yoga works with the natural movements of the breath to rouse the sleeping parts of the soul, and to make space for her dormant powers to unfold. In this retreat, we explore the Black Lotus system inside and out. We learn the outer forms and sequences that comprise the Black Lotus system, together with the inner forms of breath, bandha and mudra that bring the practice alive.

Beyond the study of technique, we explore the philosophy and mythology behind the practice, drawing from traditional sources and uncovering timeless teachings while using our hearts to reimagine what modern yoga is all about. Most importantly, we practice together deeply, making space within our bodies for consciousness to breathe.

No prior experience with Black Lotus is necessary, but some familiarity with Mysore practice is recommended. Ashtanga practitioners are absolutely welcome to join. Black Lotus Yoga was born from Ashtanga, and the two practices flow beautifully side by side. Morning Mysore sessions will support both styles, and you can practice either as you wish. There is an abundance of passion in the emergence of Black Lotus Yoga, and you are invited to share in the new blossoming.

Program

This retreat involves six days of asana practice, together with a rich series of workshops lovingly designed to support your exploration of Black Lotus Yoga. The workshops will explore such subjects as postural alignment, internal breath, bandha, mudra, energetic balance, and of course, the philosophy and mythology of Hatha Yoga. Expect a careful balance of practice, somatic exploration, practical instruction and inspiring philosophy—along with ample time to wander in the high mountains and settle more deeply into the experience. Expect to leave this retreat with a wider opening in your heart, and a yoga practice that has renewed depth and potency.

About Ty

Ty Landrum is a poet, philosopher, somatic explorer and apprentice to the body.  He learned yoga from pain and heartache, loss and confusion, old books and lost tapes, full moons, long bouts of silence, cold winds, simplicity, forgiveness, surrender, and the caring words of a few good friends.

Renowned for his profound explorations of traditional yogic ideas, Ty has a unique talent for bringing the philosophy of yoga alive, not only in words, but on the canvas of the breathing body.  His passion as a teacher is to share the brilliance of yoga with anyone who wants to learn.

Self-Love Retreat with Susanne and Anette Bastviken

Self-Love Retreat with Susanne and Anette Bastviken

Nøsen Yoga og Fjellhotell (map)

Come and join us for second retreat at Nøsen, Norway, following our  beautiful, transformational sold-out success from last year! We will take a journey into deepening self-love, healing past wounds, exploring our shadow, investigating our blocks to self-love. We will invite in fun, love, and joy, beautiful self-talk and of course bask in the healing nature together. During our 6 days, 5 nights together, we will go on a journey of meditation, workshops, ceremony, horseback riding, hiking, daily movement, and beautiful meals together.

What you will learn

Our intention is for you to remember to celebrate life, your passions and your purpose. To remember that you can only love yourself to healing and growth, and to slowly let go of harmful self-punishment, negative self-talk and holding yourself back. The week is put together in order to deepen your self-love in various ways. Firstly, we invite you to get to know yourself on a deeper level than ever before. Daily habits such as gentle movement, nourishing foods and spending time in nature will help your body release stress and enter into clarity. Through stillness and meditation, we get to know new and complex layers of our soul, and we connect to something bigger than us. Through workshops, we actively seek to let go of anything that blocks us, and to strengthen our self-trust and confidence. Connecting with horses can be a profound experience that shows you your fears, and horses often mirror to us what we need to learn. We will have transformational experiences and practice wellness on all levels with lots of self-care and basking in Norwegian nature!

We have created our retreats so that you can strengthen the most important relationship in your life – namely the one you have with yourself. You will also leave with new friendships and a beautiful community, which for us is a huge part of love and growth.

This location is just, wow. We welcome you to join us at the magical Nøsen Yoga and Mountain Hotel, three hours way from Oslo. We will be surrounded by beautiful nature and wild mountains 906 meters above sea level. Nøsen Yoga and Mountain Hotel is a charming mountain yoga resort full of soul and kindness. The owners and managers are all here out of the pure love in their hearts, seeking to live in purpose, to give back to society and to heal themselves and the world. And you can feel it just walking through the door! The people at Nøsen truly practice what they preach, and you will find the staff meditating and doing their yoga practices early in the morning with a view over the beautiful garden and lake.

The hotel has been welcoming guests since 1888 under the name Nøsen Fjellhotell (when our great grandparents used to come and stay with their friends!). Today the hotel is primarily a retreat center. Around Nøsen there are several mountains of up to 1700 meters and good opportunities for skiing, cycling, canoeing and fishing. We will be basking in nature every day, riding horses, and paddling on the lake, canoeing, swimming, walking barefoot and dipping in the river. From our hotel, we can wander barefoot down to the lake, where we can take our morning and evening dips. The retreat offers an opportunity to disconnect from daily stress and immerse in the beauty and tranquillity of nature. It's a place that allows you to slow down, breathe, and remind yourself what is truly important in your life.

The Food

We will enjoy delicious plant-centered food by two in-house chefs who cook with heart and soul. We will not go hungry at Nøsen, and the meals are super abundant, colorful, healthy and vibrant. The hotel offers buffet-style meals with informal seating, meaning that if the sun is shining, we gather outside for meals and great conversations. Nøsens head chef is Belgian and specialized in vegan cooking who creates organic, homemade delicious meals. They also have a baker who are playing with both gluten free, sourdough and normal pastries.

We will be enjoying nourishing in-season foods that are created with the love for nature, health and wellbeing for all! Our experience last year was that of eating healthier than ever, feeling vibrant, refilled, supported in our journeys of growth, and well taken care of.

We will practice eating slowly, in connection with our bodies and in gratitude! Anette and Susanne will guide and nudge you to aware and intuitive eating.

During our meals, the most healing and opening conversations are held, so join in for the joy of eating together! There is snacks available for purchase if we get hungry in between meals, such as bars, fruit, chips, healthy chocolates. There is also a coffee bar that makes everything from your favorite flat white to turmeric latte, and several cold beverages such as sparkling water and kombucha for sale.

Our Days

Picture starting your day slowly, looking out the window at serene nature. It's quiet. A couple of insects are buzzing, birds are chirping. You leave your phone unattended. Do some light stretches. Journal a couple of thoughts from your dream-state. Clean your face and slowly enter the yoga shala, where you meet with your new friends who are delighted to see you. We start with slow movements, lymph drainage, stretching and activating our bodies, followed by a soothing meditation. Then we meet downstairs to enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast created by the in-house chefs where we have about 10 different options - even for breakfast!

We spend mid-day in nature, either hiking, horse riding or SUP-ing on the lake, before we gather for lunch followed by a transformational workshop. Our workshops will be on topics such as manifesting as your authentic self, scripting your dream life, deepening of self-love - and are always based on what you as guests most want to dive into. Our workshops often create big aha-moments, emotional releases, beautiful shares and healing of old, deep wounds in a safe space. It's so beautiful and powerful.

You take lots and lots of rest, read a book, do some journaling, maybe take a nap to integrate. Before we meet for beautiful dinner together with new friends. Meaningful conversations lead us to even deeper connection, and we meet in the yoga shala for a short nervous system regulating practice before we enjoy some alone-time before drifting off to a deep restorative sleep. Then we wake up, and do it over again

About Anette and Susanne Bastviken

We are Anette & Susanne, the founders of Radical Broccoli. Radical Broccoli was created out of a feeling that “there was something more out there”. Back in 2014, we felt something had to change. We were feeling stuck, bored, exhausted, and unhappy. We knew there had to be a possibility to feel happier, healthier, more abundant, freer and to live richer lives. We decided to quit our jobs and create the lives we dreamed of. It didn't feel worth it to live an unfulfilling life. As an extension of this outer journey, we started looking within, to create true inner sustainability, to heal old wounds, to learn to live and thrive as entrepreneurs, sisters, and friends, and feel whole again.

Nature has always inspired us. When we felt ill, we could understand what nature felt like when being polluted by our poor habits. Nature also taught us how life moves in seasons. No day will be the same, and we need to accept change. Nature helped us feel how we are inherently worthy, that not one single thing, being or person is the same and that that is our gift. Nature also showed us the biggest secret - how abundance is our natural state.

With our discoveries came a passion to share. We have now created a community of over 23.000 people, and we are still so passionate about our mission. Welcome to the Radical Broccoli community.

Norges Yogafestival 2026

Norges Yogafestival 2026

Nøsen Yoga og Fjellhotell (map)

Welcome to Norway’s largest yoga festival!

For the 12th year in a row, we are delighted to invite you to Norway’s Yoga Festival at Nøsen. This is the festival that brings together playful yoga enthusiasts and dedicated practitioners for a full week of celebration, exploration, and community around the many fascinating aspects of yoga.

More than 30 Norwegian and international teachers

Knowledgeable teachers from many traditions and several corners of the world are coming to share their experience and insight. There will be 170+ different yoga classes, talks, workshops, and panel discussions. You can immerse yourself in asana, meditation, breathwork, japa, philosophy, restorative practices, and music. And not least: community, connection, and hopefully good, honest conversations.

Yoga as transformation

This is not just a festival. It is a celebration, a community, and an invitation to slow, genuine, and honest change – both within ourselves and in the way we meet the world.

This year’s theme is:

Transformation and Change

Transformation and Change

What really happens when we practice yoga over time? What is the actual transformation in the body, in the nervous system, in our emotional life, and in the way we see ourselves?

This year’s theme goes straight to the heart of what yoga promises: an inner journey where old patterns loosen their grip, moments of clarity arise, and a new, freer relationship with life begins to grow.

Big questions – your own answers

What does yoga do to you after one year? Or after ten?
Can we measure inner change in breath, pulse, nervous system, thoughts, and relationships?
What does emotional transformation look like in real life?
How can gratitude help us open the heart?
How do chanting, japa and mantra change the brain and mind over time?

More than 30 teachers – over 170 classes

  • Dynamic morning classes

  • Restorative and therapeutic sessions

  • Breath and mantra meditation

  • Talks on the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gītā

  • Japa meditation and bhakti

  • Workshops on self-understanding, inner work and emotional transformation

  • Evening activities, rituals, sharing circles, music

Every day, you will be able to enjoy three nutritious vegetarian meals prepared by our fantastic chefs. Between classes, you can swim in the Storfjorden, jump in the waterfall, lie in the grass and relax, or hike on beautiful trails in the magnificent mountain wilderness. We also offer rental of SUP boards and canoes.
