We will shed the last of our tired energy from the Kapha season and prepare ourselves for a deep dive into moving energy, breathing in specific ways, meditate and reflect on life and death.
You will practice yoga asanas to strengthen the body, to lift the mood, to transform inertia and to connect to inner resources. The asana will be quite strong, meaning we will hold poses so we can work the insides. Not necessarily advanced physical poses, but more advanced on the inside. I will guide you through specific pranayama exercises to clear out left over energy and toxins so we may meditate with a more clear and calm mind. From this place and in this space I will guide you through a Tibetan Buddhist death meditation, heart practices and we will look at our relationship with death and how looking in this direction can actually lift us into joy and presence in our everyday life.
Death has been part of all my life as both birth mother and birth father died when I was very young. Important relationships as an adult has ended and needed to be let go of. Every moment is actually a death and a birth. Moment to moment. We will practice opening our minds and views and include more perspectives in, which is always helpful to the mind, and to the world we live in.
About Daniel Gjerde Kolmannskog
For 20 years I have been on a deliberate spiritual journey to seek out more truth and more reality and more of my humanness. I learned Tibetan Buddhist meditations and practices in Kopan Monestary in Nepal in 2008 and started my teaching journey in 2011. I teach in a way that is very real and very explored from my own side, its tested over time and I bring my heart and literally my soul into how I teach. I can be silly and at the same time I get serious with my intentions. I use practices from Tibetan Buddhism, hatha yoga, tantra yoga (not neo-tantra), I focus on alignment of the physical body and subtle cues, and I teach with intention doing my best to lead you through experience.
