Step into the stillness of the Nordic winter and immerse yourself in a week of practice, presence, and renewal. Set against the quiet beauty of Norway’s snow-covered landscape, this retreat is an invitation to journey inward — balancing the discipline of Ashtanga, the softness of Yin, and the depth of conscious breath.
Each morning begins with 30 minutes of guided breathwork, awakening body and mind, before flowing into Mysore-style Ashtanga practice. This traditional method allows each student to be guided through their practice at their own pace, with space for personal exploration and individual support.
As the day draws to a close, we gather again in the evenings for workshops and Yin sessions. Some evenings will deepen our understanding of yoga through themed workshops — exploring technique, philosophy, and integration of breath. Others will invite us to surrender into the quiet strength of Yin, offering time to soften, restore, and release.
With nourishing meals, spacious surroundings, and the embrace of winter’s silence, this retreat offers the chance to reset, reconnect, and rediscover balance between effort and ease.
All levels are welcome — whether you are new to Ashtanga or an experienced practitioner, you’ll find guidance, inspiration, and space to grow.
About Katy Scherer & Joseph Armstrong
Katy finds the blurred lines between tradition and modernity fascinating, scary, provocative and transformational. An Ashtanga at heart she finds comfort and support within the traditions of the practice, completing 3 months of study in Mysore under Sharath Jois. When it comes to breathwork and pranayama it’s a different story. After years of traditional practice she shook things up and dove head first into the world of breathwork where she experienced the life altering power of breath!
Bending in tradition, modern science and dynamic breathwork practices she offers a space for all students to go all in, go deep all whilst being supported on the breathwork journey.
Katy believes there is a beauty of combining the tradition with the modern to create a practice that serves you so you can serve others. A dedicated practitioner, teacher, business owner, mama and wife she understands the true meaning of flexibility and likes to share the lessons she has learnt to all willing to try.

Joseph Armstrong teaches yoga rooted firmly in tradition but with an eye to the future. His search for a more present and peaceful life first led him to the practice in 2008. A few years later he was in India studying intensively.
After finally overcoming a long struggle with addiction, Joseph began experimenting with Ashtanga Yoga. He understood quickly that the lineage was calling to him to deepen his practice. He underwent a 2 year apprenticeship program at the world renowned Miami Life Center, continuing his education under his dear teachers Tim Fieldman and Kino MacGregor.
He also practices regularly with Paramaguru Sharath Jois in Mysore India, where he was given his level 2 authorization. Joseph teaches yoga because attempts to do any and everything else ended disastrously. But when he finally devoted himself to his passion, he became an asset to himself and others. He hopes his practice allows him to be ever more loving and to exist gently.
