Overview

Winter invites us to change rhythm: to slow down, turn our attention inwards and take better care of our energy.

In traditional Chinese medicine, winter is linked with the Water element: stillness, depth, rest and preserving life force. In nature less happens on the surface, while energy gathers before a new movement begins.

Fjellro ('mountain calm') is an invitation to meet winter in the same way: to sink a little deeper into the body, listen, recharge and notice what becomes clearer when things get quieter.

Through gentle movement, breath, meditation, creative processes, Yoga Nidra and sensory sauna rituals, we explore the balance between activity and rest, warmth and cold, expression and stillness.

A weekend to move the body without performing, make room for rest and fill up on what nourishes you and gives you energy. There is plenty of time between sessions to rest, walk, read or simply be in silence.

The practices

BODYART® Water Flow and meditation in movement

BODYART is a holistic movement system that combines breath, movement, strength, mobility and relaxation, inspired by traditional Chinese medicine and the principles of Yin and Yang. Water Flow draws on the five elements and the meridians. We move in soft, continuous sequences where the breath leads us from posture to posture.

BODYART PRANA®

Conscious movement with flow and breath at the centre. Through conscious breathing and organic movement the session can create more presence, calm and regulation in the nervous system, while the body is challenged and strengthened.

Yoga Nidra

A guided meditation that invites you into a state between waking and sleep, where the mind stays awake while the body sinks into deep rest. The nervous system can land, muscles release tension and the mind settles.

Creative Expressions

A low-threshold creative process using the body, the senses and simple creative expression, with methods from art and expressive therapy, yoga, somatic movement and creative process work. We explore through colour, words, paint or clay. It is not about being good or making something nice. No creative experience needed.

Sauna rituals and aufguss

A longer guided sauna experience using all the senses: heat, cooling, steam, scents, herbs and music. Aufguss ('to pour on' in German) means pouring water and ice balls with essential oils on the hot stones; each aufguss lasts about 10 to 15 minutes. Between rituals you cool down the body.

Your teachers
Christina Støle Therkildsen

Christina Støle Therkildsen

Founder of Krønsj, yoga teacher and breathwork coach

Christina runs her own training studio, Krønsj, in the heart of Oslo, and also works as a secondary school PE teacher. She has long experience as an entrepreneur through both Krønsj and Catslide, and for many years has taught courses for therapists and instructors in BODYART, Trigger Point and TRX. She is a qualified yoga teacher in Hatha, Vinyasa (RYT200) and Yin (RYT 50), and teaches breath, movement and stress management both at her studio and in companies.

In her work Christina cares about the role of breath and movement, both functionally and as a whole. She is fascinated by how music and rhythm can support the quality of movement, and how varied and well-judged load can build a strong, supple and balanced body.

Christina is a trained MI (motivational interviewing) counsellor and breathwork coach, and has more than 30 years of experience in health, training and movement. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology, political science and history. With Christina you explore breath, movement and body on your own terms, with a focus on presence and your own rhythm.

Mira Hopland

Mira Hopland

Dancer, art and expressive therapist, sauna master

Mira has devoted much of her working life to the body, movement and creativity. Since 2008 she has taught everything from dance, yoga and training to more sensory and somatic movement practices, always with a strong belief in the joy of movement and the body's ability to bring us more present and into deeper contact with ourselves.

She trained as a dancer and teacher at Bårdar Akademiet and the Norwegian School of Ballet (Den Norske Balletthøyskolen), specialising in therapeutic and process-oriented teaching in dance and movement. She later trained as an art and expressive therapist at USN/NIKUT. Through several yoga teacher trainings she has studied Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa, Uniao Flow, trauma-sensitive yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra.

Mira is also a trained sauna master and works with the sauna as a sensory, bodily space where heat, cold, breath, music, scents, silence and presence meet. Today she runs Somatic Arts (somaticarts.no), bringing together her experience in movement, yoga, rest, creative processes and sauna rituals. She also has several years of experience working in mental health in specialist health services.
