Welcome to join us in the serene mountains of Norway for a space to rest, to embrace tranquility, a getaway to cultivate gratitude and joy. This is a break from the stress of daily life, a time for you to only focus on yourself, embracing moments of peace and happiness. The retreat offers a blend of movement and stillness, building strength and balance as well as letting go into the present moment and rest. We will embrace the season, the winter is a time to slow down and recharge.

Experience:

  • Morning Vinyasa sessions with elements of traditional hatha yoga practice: Discover the joy of movement, let go and have fun on the mat while cultivating strength, flexibility, and stillness within, challenge your mind and body. We are two teachers to ensure individual attention with focus on alignment and adjustments.

  • Restorative gentle evening yoga: deeply nourish your body and mind with a gentle evening session of small movements and long holds, allowing for profound relaxation and stress release.

  • Rest and recharge with sound bath: experience the power of vibrations, we invite you into the present moment with the help of traditional Tibetan sound and vibrational bowls. We will cultivate gratitude and serenity through guided relaxation, embracing release and deep rest.

  • Yoga philosophy: small introduction to the traditional yoga philosophy and integrating calming breathing techniques

  • Free time: immerse yourself in beautiful nature, embark on rejuvenating walks through breathtaking winter landscapes, feel the fresh air and enjoy the peace of being in nature.

  • Nourish your body with healthy wholesome meals, veg buffet three times a day.

This retreat is suitable for everyone, from beginners to long term practitioners. In all the yoga classes we make sure to give lots of different options, aiming for everyone to find a practice that suits them and their individual development. We are always open for the participants to lie down and rest if that's what the body wants that day. Most important is to listen to the body and remembering that the time on the mat should be enjoyed.


ABOUT THE TEACHERS

Marita Liverød

Marita holds a master’s degree in sustainable development and 1600 hours advanced yoga teacher training from India. She has been teaching yoga across the world for the last 12 years, as well as working with eco development projects. Marita has a big passion to spread enthusiasm and awareness about regenerative lifestyle practices. Her excitement for trekking has taken her around the world, as well as her love for permaculture.

Marita started her company Wanderlust Yoga in 2017 where yoga is combined with experiences in nature. She runs an off-grid yoga retreat & learning centre for regenerative lifestyle in Norway in the summer months and offer yoga and trekking tours in Nepal in the spring. The rest of the year she travels and teach in different corners of the world.

Maritas classes are focused on seeing the individual on the mat, valuing adjustments and alignment with an aim to take the practitioner into the present moment. Her approach to yoga is towards a holistic way of integrating yoga into daily life, with an aim to increase happiness and cultivate a deeper connection to nature, finding our path towards a mindful life full of joy.

Sabin Shrestha

Sabin grew up in Nepal with a culture embracing the spiritual, where aspects of yoga was a natural part of human existence. He studied IT in university, but realized the need of creating a different life, and went on to explore other dimensions of the mind and existence.

Onwards Sabin spent a lot of time in the Himalayas, starting to embrace yoga practice, which led to the completion of his first yoga teacher training in Mysore finalized in 2017. He carried out a diverse number of courses related to yoga, including pranayama with B.N.S. Iyengar, Thai Yoga Massage, sound healing, as well as the qualification as a mountain guide in 2018.

Sabin has taught and travelled around the world the last 7 years. With a dream to embrace a life in harmony with nature, he started building up Hagabrekka Wanderland together with Marita in 2021, a learning center for yoga, nature experiences and sustainability. He is the main guide in their journeys in the Himalayas as well. Sabins focus in yoga is to create space for silence to observe and learn from within. His main practice is traditional yoga adapted to a modern world. “Silence is not empty, it’s full of answers”.
