Give yourself permission to pause, breathe, and turn inward to your own well-being. Pause & Breathe is a retreat that invites you back to your body, mind, and soul – embraced by the stunning Norwegian mountain landscape. In the peace of the mountains, under the open sky, you will find space to slow down, breathe, and once again hear the voice of your inner self.

Through yoga practices, nourishing food, and moments of silence, you’ll have the opportunity to restore, strengthen, and remind yourself of what truly matters to you. Pause and breathe. Here, you can feel the wisdom and tranquility of the surrounding mountains flowing through you.

Signs of Light with Jenny Kostoglakis

Signs of Light with Jenny Kostoglakis

Nøsen Yoga og Fjellhotell (map)

This retreat is here for you to reignite your light.

Over these four days, you’ll free suppressed energies and embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery. You’ll reconnect with yourself by initiating a release process, cultivating gentle curiosity and the courage for inner strength.

We Will Use the Following Three Core Practices to Reignite Your Light.

Writing. The chaos in our head will find a new home on paper. Writing has long and successfully been used in therapy, and research has shown that it helps with organizing, processing, and releasing thoughts and stuck emotions. What makes it especially unique is that it's able to reframe experiences and firm belief systems in a way that talking may not achieve.

Intentional Yin Yoga. This is where your body learns the true meaning of stillness, softness and surrender. Each pose is held for three to five minutes and guided by a certain theme. During this time, you allow your muscles and fascia to let go. You’ll begin to create a safe space for pausing, reflection and deep insight.

Yoga Nidra. Here you’ll be guided into the “in between” zone – shifting between waking and sleeping. That deeply restorative state activates your parasympathetic nervous system and can lower your cortisol, the main stress hormone in your body. It reduces anxiety, opens up emotional blockages, promotes creativity and the connection to your self.

I’m so looking forward to guiding you through this beautiful experience!

About Jenny Kostoglakis

Journalist, Certified Yin Yoga Instructor & Yoga Nidra Guide

At six, I wrote my first fantasy story: a brave pink princess rescuing the love of her life. At ten, a silly vacation magazine for my family. By nineteen, a small book of short stories titled Teach Me How to Live, and at twenty-three – surprise, surprise – I became an official writer and journalist.

The real surprise, however, was that the fast-paced world of news journalism, built around the very thing I loved most — writing — would lead me straight into burnout. Writing at such a high speed and volume made me race through life itself. One day I woke up and barely recognized myself. Deep down, I already knew: this wasn’t the path I was meant to walk. It wasn’t healthy, and it wasn’t real writing. It couldn’t be.

So, I paused.

And stepped onto the mat. Yoga made me realize that stillness and peace existed; I just needed to actively make space for them. I approached writing again. This time with a deeper sense, a slower pace. My joy came back, and I can’t tell you how many times I felt release during my writings, suddenly sitting before a soaking sheet of paper with blurry ink.

We have no idea how much our body carries, how much our mind holds. So, I strongly believe that writing and movement of any kind are some of the greatest pauses available to us in the chaos of modern life. And it is my mission to create that exact pause for you — a moment where you can rediscover yourself again. Where you step out of the noise and back into yourself. Where you meet your pure light.

4-Day Forrest Yoga and Energy Medicine Retreat with Ilias Kousis

4-Day Forrest Yoga and Energy Medicine Retreat with Ilias Kousis

Nøsen Yoga og Fjellhotell (map)

This 4-day retreat will equip you with easy-to-use, practical tools to transform your life both on and off the mat. You will be educated on how to use your Yoga practice to uncover your blind spots and pockets of fear within you, learn from them, become wiser and heal your physical pain and process your emotional blockages.

You will be introduced to some of the basic principles of Energy Medicine. You will learn how to open sacred space, be aware of the state of your field and facilitate the right conditions for healing through mending the holes in your field. You will practically understand how Energy Medicine DOES HAVE practical applications that DO affect your physical body and the probabilities of falling for disease and depression. You will start realising that everything that happens to you has the mere intention to help you evolve and grow spiritually and not as a targeted, personal assault towards you because universe doesn't like you.

About Ilias Kousis

Hi, I am Ilias, a Forrest Yoga Guardian (Level 5 - handpicked by Ana Forrest & Jose Calarco), Energy Medicine Practitioner (Four Winds) and Certified Breath Coach (YogaBody & Dan Brulé). I am formally educated as Geologist and Climate Scientist (MSc), which has been a result of my early passion to study Earth and Life in general to satisfy my own thirst for knowledge as well as to serve humanity. After realising what my life’s purpose is, I decided to make a radical change: I quit my PhD 90% before completion and dedicated myself to transitioning in teaching yoga full-time. I never looked back since then and my life is full of blessings one coming after the other. I know what it feels to be scared of standing up for yourself, disobeying your fear, stepping into your own power and daring to chase after your dreams. I did it for myself, still do it and will continue doing it until I die. I can help you find the courage to dream your life into being; you know, that “life” that YOU authentically desire living, not the ones others expect you to live. Learn more about me by navigating my website and IG profile.

This retreat is for you who are interested in honing your skills of:

  • Speaking Truth to yourself, acknowledging where opportunities for growth lie and take responsibility for your actions, which by extension will define your life experience.

  • Learning how to perform on high level in all areas of life without getting overwhelmed or swallowed by intensity and become the leader of your own head.

  • Finding purpose in life and get excited about every little second you are alive.

This retreat is NOT for you if you:

  • Believe the lies in your head that this work is too spiritual or too advanced for you.

  • Catch yourself being unhappy and bitter inside and prefer to spread negativity to others around you instead of being accountable and change your life.

  • Catch yourself complaining about external factors like the government, God, colleagues, strangers and deny recognising that this is a call for action to elevate your consciousness.

This retreat will provide you with tools to start handling the above challenges in an intelligent way. Whether you are attending the retreat or not, remember this: The more you evolve spiritually and unlock your gifts and talents and learn how to share them, the more you send ripples of transformation and inspiration to every creature around you. YOU become part of the SOLUTION instead of the problem. The choice is yours.

The retreat is open to practitioners of all levels, ages and pregnant women.

For any questions regarding the content of the retreat, please contact Ilias directly at ikousis90@gmail.com

Re-feel - Re-fill: Movement, Expression and Qigong with Benjamin Medin & Alexander Aarø

Re-feel - Re-fill: Movement, Expression and Qigong with Benjamin Medin & Alexander Aarø

Nøsen Yoga og Fjellhotell (map)

This is the fourth year for our Refill Retreat! Join where we dive into ancient movement and meditation practices, as well as intuitive ways of connecting to our inner resources, sharing space together to explore more of what we really are.

Through Qi Gong, movement, dance and therapeutic voice explorations, we engage with ourselves in a way that supports a peaceful mind and a relaxed, resilient body. In this context, Qi Gong is the practice of following the body-mind system’s natural and universal ways of movement—connecting to the free-flowing and effortless qualities of movement that are found in play, dance, and other natural expressions. We share a selection of ways to enter into this effortlessness through exploring your own body’s patterns and becoming more aware of the natural breath and movement already happening.

How would it be to let go into soft awareness of the body, and to see what can happen there? Letting go of rigidity, and finding balance in our inner structure.

Our wish is to create the perfect space to both rest in movement and feel renewed and refreshed through being more present with the body and its own flow and internal energy. This is where more profound layers of meditation and rest, and also deeper awareness of ourselves, are located.

In this retreat we will also implement some tools of physical interaction like contact improvisation and other embodiment explorations to widen our perspective of relating in movement and to the world.

We will share ways of nurturing and calming the body and mind through restorative practices based on Qi Gong, dance and movement. This will also serve as a good foundation to meet stress and resistance in everyday life, and to prepare the body and focus to meet the new year—potentially also deepening the practice through an optional ice bath session.

We invite you to explore a different kind of gathering: connecting with yourself, softening into your body, and spending a joyous time together.

As in Beatles famous words,

"Get back to where you once belong"

You can expect

  • Breathing deeper into your body and connecting to your body’s natural flow

  • Moving every day

  • Moments of deep stillness and softness

  • Joyous moments with other people both in classes and outside the scheduled sessions

  • Becoming more “online” within yourself

The Listening Body with Annabel Guaita and Piotr Marcinów

The Listening Body with Annabel Guaita and Piotr Marcinów

Nøsen Yoga og Fjellhotell (map)

With pianist and Listeners' Pilot Annabel Guaita and yoga and meditation teacher Piotr Marcinów.
We explore how music, breath, and movement affect the nervous system, and how a supportive mindset can influence both body and mind. The retreat is structured with gentle yoga sessions, music listening, meditation, and conversations – all in a safe and warm community where you can be yourself, regardless of experience or background. This is suitable for everyone – both beginners and the experienced.

You do not need any prior experience with classical music, yoga, or meditation. All you need is an open mind and a willingness to listen – not only with your ears, but also with your body, senses, and your whole life experience. This program is suitable for anyone who wants to support their own health and vitality. It is also adapted for people with neurological challenges that affect movement, balance, or energy.

The days at Nøsen alternate between activity and rest. There will be time for silence, nature, reflection, and community – and you will experience how sound, breath, and thoughts can work together to give the body better flow and the mind more peace. Nøsen Yoga and Mountain Hotel has recently added new buildings, a spa, and a sauna – a place that truly invites restoration. Here you can feel the mountain quiet and let your body find its way back to balance and hope.

A retreat for listening – with the body, with the heart, and with all of you.
Maximum 20 participants.

About Annabel and Piotr

Annabel Guaita is a pianist and lives with Parkinson's, but has found ways to live well with the condition. She is currently touring with the show "Musikken som veiviser" ("Music as a Guide"), where she shares how curiosity and hope can change one's perspective on illness and adversity, and the importance of listening actively and with presence – both to music and to life itself. Annabel works as an associate professor at the Grieg Academy and holds an artistic doctoral degree in music.

She has an extensive touring career and several CD releases on Lawo Classics. She also runs her own podcast, also called Lyttelos. Read more on her website: www.lyttelos.no

Piotr Marcinów is a trained muscle therapist and practices at the Bergen MTT Center as well as through his own business, Helkropp.no. He is originally from Poland but has made his home in Bergen, specifically in Breistølen together with Annabel. With a master's degree in Indian philosophy – with a particular focus on Eastern traditions – and over 30 years of experience with yoga, meditation, and pranayama, he has developed a deep understanding of the body, mind, and the interaction between them. Journey into Winter: Ashtanga, Yin & the Breath with Katy Scherer, Joseph Armstrong & Edgar Navarro

Journey into Winter: Ashtanga, Yin & the Breath with Katy Scherer, Joseph Armstrong & Edgar Navarro

Nøsen Yoga og Fjellhotell (map)

Step into the stillness of the Nordic winter and immerse yourself in a week of practice, presence, and renewal. Set against the quiet beauty of Norway’s snow-covered landscape, this retreat is an invitation to journey inward — balancing the discipline of Ashtanga, the softness of Yin, and the depth of conscious breath.

Each morning begins with 30 minutes of guided breathwork, awakening body and mind, before flowing into Mysore-style Ashtanga practice. This traditional method allows each student to be guided through their practice at their own pace, with space for personal exploration and individual support.

As the day draws to a close, we gather again in the evenings for workshops and Yin sessions. Some evenings will deepen our understanding of yoga through themed workshops — exploring technique, philosophy, and integration of breath. Others will invite us to surrender into the quiet strength of Yin, offering time to soften, restore, and release.

With nourishing meals, spacious surroundings, and the embrace of winter’s silence, this retreat offers the chance to reset, reconnect, and rediscover balance between effort and ease.

All levels are welcome — whether you are new to Ashtanga or an experienced practitioner, you’ll find guidance, inspiration, and space to grow.

About Katy Scherer & Joseph Armstrong

Katy finds the blurred lines between tradition and modernity fascinating, scary, provocative and transformational. An Ashtanga at heart she finds comfort and support within the traditions of the practice, completing 3 months of study in Mysore under Sharath Jois. When it comes to breathwork and pranayama it’s a different story. After years of traditional practice she shook things up and dove head first into the world of breathwork where she experienced the life altering power of breath!

Bending in tradition, modern science and dynamic breathwork practices she offers a space for all students to go all in, go deep all whilst being supported on the breathwork journey.

Katy believes there is a beauty of combining the tradition with the modern to create a practice that serves you so you can serve others. A dedicated practitioner, teacher, business owner, mama and wife she understands the true meaning of flexibility and likes to share the lessons she has learnt to all willing to try.

Joseph Armstrong teaches yoga rooted firmly in tradition but with an eye to the future. His search for a more present and peaceful life first led him to the practice in 2008. A few years later he was in India studying intensively.

After finally overcoming a long struggle with addiction, Joseph began experimenting with Ashtanga Yoga. He understood quickly that the lineage was calling to him to deepen his practice. He underwent a 2 year apprenticeship program at the world renowned Miami Life Center, continuing his education under his dear teachers Tim Fieldman and Kino MacGregor.

He also practices regularly with Paramaguru Sharath Jois in Mysore India, where he was given his level 2 authorization. Joseph teaches yoga because attempts to do any and everything else ended disastrously. But when he finally devoted himself to his passion, he became an asset to himself and others. He hopes his practice allows him to be ever more loving and to exist gently.
